Mr. Ramneek Wig coined the term “Pranayama Therapy” in the year 2004.
Mr. Ramneek Wig got cancer not once, twice, but three times. The second time he got cancer, he had a bone marrow transplant at UCI Medical Center at Orange County in California. The third time he got cancer, he went to USC Medical Center in Los Angeles; there he was treated with research drugs.
Even after Mr. Wig’s treatment was over, the doctors in the United States gave him maximum 6 months to live. After coming back to India in the year 2004, Mr. Wig decided to experiment different pranayamas upon himself.
It was after a lot of research and practical experiences, Mr. Wig made a set of pranayamas for himself, and named them as Mind-Body-Soul pranayamas. He also made changes in his diet. It was December 2004 when Mr. Ramneek Wig coined the term “Pranayama Therapy.”
Mind-Body-Soul pranayamas are 15 in number. They have all the essential ingredients present in them comprising of correct inhalation, abdominal breathing, chest breathing, proper use of lungs, internal retention, external retention, deep exhalation, rapid inhalation and exhalation, deep abdominal breathing, proper use of the diaphragm and forceful exhalation.
Mind-Body-Soul pranayamas are helpful in the treatment of various diseases and ailments. Some of the diseases in which Mind-Body-Soul pranayamas are very helpful are as follows—heart problems, blockages in the arteries, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, cancer, high cholesterol, asthma, depression, prostrate disorders, low blood pressure, lung congestions, liver disorders, skin problems, nasal blockages, nervous disorders, acidity, constipation, insomnia and loss of appetite.
Mind-Body-Soul pranayamas are a great aid to stress management. Even the most stressful situations can be overcome by practicing these Mind-Body-Soul pranayamas. Apart from this, Mind-Body-Soul pranayamas help in the realization of the Self.
Mr. Ramneek Wig has done a Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy from Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit University. He was awarded a Gold Medal for his outstanding performance.
Mr. Wig also took part in the Delhi State Yoga Championship. Thereafter, Mr. Ramneek Wig used to teach Yog Darshan (Yoga Philosophy) at Indian Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy, New Delhi.

PRANAYAMA
The word pranayama consists of 2 ingredients—Prana and Ayama.
Prana stands for the vital energy present within each one of us; in gross terms, it can be easily understood as the breath.Ayama stands for extension, direction, regulation or control.Thus the word pranayama stands for extension, regulation, control or direction of the breath.
There are different pranayamas for different diseases and ailments; certain guidelines are to be followed while practicing pranayama; apart from this there are certain safety precautions which are to be kept in mind while practicing pranayama.
DIET
This is the second ingredient of “Pranayama Therapy.”
Mr. Ramneek Wig recommends a diet comprising of natural foods for pranayama practitioners.
Food products such as fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, sprouts, whole wheat items, sprouted porridge, honey, and soybean should be taken.Apart from this lot of water should be taken; at least 3 to 4 litres in a day.
As far as diseases are concerned, there are different food stuff, which are to be taken depending upon the ailment the patient is suffering from. In addition to this there are certain food items which should be avoided in order to remain healthy and strong.
